It was Kennedale?s game in the first half with Wildcats taking a 14-7 lead into the locker room. At that point they had to be feeling good about the game especially since it was at Mansfield and it was Legacy?s homecoming. They had a lead and had forced a fumble and a interception to stop big drives.

Juwan Washington (Jr) had started it all with a 41 yard run in in the 1st quarter and then matched that with a 35 yarder in the 2nd quarter. He finished the half with two touchdowns and 133 yards. He would end the game with 168 yards on 24 carries. {{more}}

Legacy did move the ball in the first half but the Wildcats defense had the two big stops to slow them down. Running back, Kijana Amous, who was the workhorse for Mansfield, scored the Brocos? solo touchdown in the first half. He would finish the game with 281 yards on 23 carries and 1 pass reception for 25 yards. He had 4 touchdowns for the night.

The second half started off as it had ended with a touchdown by Kennedale?s Donnie Darville (Sr) who took up the pace for Washington. Darville would score touchdown runs of 41 and 63 yards to finish the game with 149 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns.

Even though Kennedale was leading 21-7 at that point, there was the sense that Legacy was gaining momentum as Amous caught a 25 yard pass to bring the score to 21-14 in the 3rd. It was all Legacy after that except for Darville?s second touchdown of the evening, a 63 yarder that did lift the Wildcats spirit momentarily. But in the 4th, Legacy would score 29 points to Kennedale?s 6 (extra point try failed).
