Joy Dale (Bellamy) McKay-Rowell, 75 years old, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 surrounded by loving family & friends.
Joy was one of three children born to Angus and Ruth Bellamy. She was educated in various schools and went on to work many years in the insurance industry starting out as Claims Examiner and retiring as a Vice President. {{more}}
Joy was an excellent seamstress who could look at a dress then go home and create a custom pattern out of newspaper and the design would be even better than the original. In the 70s Joy assisted in the sewing of the Nimitz Vikas Drill Team uniforms. She was an avid Gardner and loved cooking, fishing and crafts. Joy’s love and dedication to her family was unparalleled. The most important thing to her was family and her strong faith. Joy was well loved by all that met her and like her name, she was a true JOY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Angus and Ruth Bellamy; her 1st and 2nd husband’s John McKay Jr and Buddy Rowell, nephew Kevin Bellamy and beloved son-in-law Dwight Graham Jr.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by 3-1/2, children, Cindee Delmar Graham of Garland, TX, faithful furry 4 legged son Toby (her Lil Man); Keith Delmar and Ralph Delmar. Grandchildren, Brant & Cassi Smith, Bradley Smith and Cody Delmar. Treasured great-grandsons, Braden Smith, Max Smith and Liam Smith. Two brothers & families, James Wendell Bellamy & Debbie Greer; Calvin Wayne &Virginia Bellamy. Nephews & Nieces, Steve Bellamy, Darrell Bellamy, Karen Bellamy-Rejeck, Gina Bellamy and her namesake Alicia Joy Bellamy-Peacock; and she was very fond & loved her extended family Dawn and Ray Cronkright; Madelyn Seago; Linda Scott; Fran Hurst and a host of other treasured & much loved family members.
A special “Thank You” to Toni Wilson and Linda from Custom Care Hospice for their great help, friendship and loving care they showed, as well as all the others that aided her.
Pallbearers will be Brant Smith; Bradley Smith; Braden Smith; Steven Bellamy; Darrell Bellamy; Darrell Barnes and Ray Cronkright. Services will be officiated by Rev. Robert Hemsath. Reception following services will be hosted by Darrell & Mona Barnes.
