Former Wildcat Jackson earns NJCAA honor at McLennan

Jackson, a sophomore from Kennedale, helped the Highlanders capture their first tournament victory in program history. He averaged 22.5 points and 8 rebounds per game in the Highlanders’ two tournament games. For the year he averaged 14.7 and 6.8 rebounds per game while playing in 35 games.
 
As a freshman in 2014-15, Jackson averaged 7.3 points and 3.8 rebounds while appearing in all 31 of the Highlanders? games.

At Kennedale High School, Jackson averaged 20 points and eight rebounds playing for Head Coach Doug Groff and the Wildcats. He was part of the team that went 70-4 over a two year period and made the final four once in Austin. He was a two-time first-team all-district and all-region selection and a two-time district Offensive Player of the Year, District Co-MVP, Region 1-3A MVP, All-state selection and a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star.

He is the son of LaTrisha Jackson with one brother, Brian, and three sisters, Michelle, Brishon and Tytianna. He is a General Studies major.

Jackson has acknowledged that he has received numerous offers

from 4 year universities including in state UTA, Abilene Christian and Texas

State and out of state Loyola University, Cleveland State, Idaho State, Pennsylvania Robert

Morris, Western Illinois, Southeast Missouri and University of Maryland Eastern

Shores. After his performance in the

playoffs, he should expect more.
