Senior linebacker Baron Browning was named The Associated Press Class 4A Defensive Player of the Year. While junior offensive lineman Andrew Flanagan, sophomore running back DJ Kirven and senior defensive tackle Gjemar Daniels were named as named as 4A Honorable Mention.

Browning, considered a five-star prospect, recently gave a commitment to Ohio State University. He was also name the MVP for District 5-4A. This year in unofficial stats, Browning recorded 75 tackles with 10 for loss, 3 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries and 3 touchdowns.
 
Flanagan repeats on all-state list …
 
This is Andrew Flanagan second year with All-State honors. Last year he earned first team all-state honors was named DFW Super 2nd Team and was District 5-4A offensive lineman MVP. This year he was selected by the Star Telegram as one of the top twenty area offensive players to watch this season.
 
Last week he was once again named District 5-4A offensive MVP.
 
Kirven with 28 TDs & 2,000+ yards …
 
Tailback DJ Kirven as a sophomore gained 2,056 yards, scored 28 touchdowns, recorded ten 100+ games with a game high of 358 yards.
 
He made first team all-district running back this year in his first year as a starter.
 
Daniels with 3 sacks 20 tackles for loss & a safety …

 
Defensive tackle Gjemar Daniels besides earning All-State recognition this year was named all-district Co-Defensive MVP for District 5-4A.
 
Daniels through 14 games made 56 tackles with 20 for loss, recorded 3 sacks and one safety. (defensive stats for the last game of the season unavailable).
