Kennedale owns wins over FTW Benbrook and Castleberry and drops to Springtown and Mineral Wells. The Kats will finish 1st round action with games against Diamond Hill today at home beginning at 6:30 p.m. and then the following Tuesday against Lake Worth at Lake Worth also at 6:30 pm.?
Benbrook ? Friday, March 9 (W) 13-6?
- Kennedale jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Benbrook managed to get a run across the plate in the bottom of the 2nd. The Lady Kats went on to connect for 17 hits while scoring 13. They had 8 errors for the game. Benbrook managed 6 runs on 4 hits and 3 errors.?
- Kennedale scored 3 in the 1st, 2 in the second and 2 each in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th innings. Eight players had hits in the game with three players hitting triples.?
- Megan Calhoun got the win, allowing just 4 hits in 7 innings, facing 33 batters with 111 pitches and 77 strikes (.694). She struck out 6, walked 1 and got 13 ground/fly outs.

- Coming off a strong game against Benbrook and playing at home, the Lady Kats were hoping to add another district win to their record but it was not to be. The Lady Rams broke up a tied game with the Kats in the 5th to go on and take a 6-2 win over the Kats.?
- For the game Mineral Wells (6-5) has 6 runs on 11 hits with 2 errors. Kennedale this season had 2 runs on 4 hits with 6 errors.
- Megan Calhoun took the loss for the Kats while throwing all seven innings, facing 38 batters, striking out 9 with 95 strikes in 149 throws (.638), walking 3 and getting 10 ground/fly outs.
- But it was Megan who was responsible for Kennedale?s 2 run when she hammered the first pitch thrown to her in the bottom of the 3rd, knocking it over the fence to score 2. Also getting hits in the game were Jenna Webb 1-3 and Allie Hopper 1-3.
Castleberry ? Friday, March 16 (W) 14-0?
- Playing at Castleberry last week, the Kennedale Lady Kats evened their district record at 2-2 with a smacking of the Lady Lions 14-0.
- Blanking Castleberry was Megan Calhoun who allowed just 2 hits and no runs in 5 inning on the mound. Castleberry had 5 errors in the game. Kennedale had 14 runs on 10 hits with 2 errors.
- Calhoun faced 20 batters throwing 88 times with 53 strikes (.602) while striking out 8, walking 1 and getting 6 ground/fly outs for the game.
- The Kats scored 4 in the first, 1 in the second and fourth and then when on an 8 run spree in the top of the 6th.?
- Mary Grace Howard smacked a homerun while going 2-3 at the plate with 3RBIs with a walk and scoring 4 times.?
- In all seven Lady Kats scored including Alyssa Bradberry 2-3, 3 RBIs & 2 runs; Mikinzie Eubanks 1-2 & 3 RBIs; Allison Smith 2-3, 2 RBIs, 1 walk & 2 runs; Allie Hopper 1-3, 1 RBI & 1 run; Megan Calhoun 1-4; and Jenna Webb 1-3, a walk and 2 runs. Also scoring runs were Daijia Pugh and Hope Regalado.
