?FORT WORTH, Texas (May 21, 2020) — Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County held a Volunteer Appreciation Parade with their staff this week to make up for the cancellation of their originally planned Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon in April. {{more: continue …}}?The luncheon is held annually to recognize veteran volunteers with 10 to 40 years of service during National Volunteer Month. However, due to COVID-19, an alternative plan was made to host a parade to share on social media and via email with volunteers.?There is never enough thanks …??“There are never enough thanks to give our volunteers or words to express what they mean to Meals On Wheels and the homebound clients that we serve in Tarrant County,” said Sarah Drew-Watson, VP of Volunteer Services. “Our volunteers are truly the backbone and heart of our program. They have risen to the occasion during the COVID-19 crisis and adapted to all the new regulations and safety protocols put in place to keep both them and our clients safe, and that is what has enabled us to continue to deliver hot nutritious meals daily to thousands of clients throughout Tarrant County.
