?Excited and humbled to say I?ve officially committed to Tarleton State University. I?ve been blessed with such great coaches and family that have helped me throughout this process.?

While playing for Kennedale, Ector was a two time AP Texas All-State 4A player, winning both his senior year and sophomore year. In his junior year, he was named to the Sports Writers Association 4A All-State team as Honorable Mention. He was a three time all-district player, making it each year that he was a varsity starter. He was named the district MVP- Defensive Player his senior and district Defensive Newcomer of the Year his sophomore year.

Rivera has played for a Wildcat team that has not lost a district game while he was starter. His first year as a starter, Kennedale went undefeated in the regular season and advanced to the regional semifinals, going 12-1 that year. His junior year, Kennedale reached the state semi-finals for the first time ever and then in his senior year, the Wildcats made it to the state finals.

His final year for Kennedale, Ector recorded 148 tackles averaging 9.9 per game with 21 tackles for loss and 6 sacks. His career tackles numbered 369 with an average of 8.4 per game.
