Homecoming was celebrated last Friday night at Kennedale?s Wildcat Stadium. In front of a large homecoming crowd, the 2015 Coming Home Queen was announced along with the crowning of the 2015 Homecoming Queen and King and the presentation of the Homecoming Court. {{more}}
 
Coming Home Queen ?
 
Starting off the festivities was the 2014 Coming Home Queen Linda Royster’s presentation of flowers and a tiara to the 2015 KHS Alumni Coming Home Queen, Mrs. Bon Sharon Hamrick.

Hamrick told the Coming Home Committee, ?I was 9 years old when my family moved to Kennedale in 1947. I attended Kennedale schools from the fourth grade through the tenth grade. I was a member of the 4-H club and Girls Athletic Club in 1954. I attended Mansfield High School in 1956, because at that time Kennedale only went through the tenth grade.?
 
She married Don Hamrick in 1956 and moved to Memphis, TN, but returned to Kennedale to raise four children – David Wayne, Scott, Janna and Dyrel Hamrick. All attended Kennedale schools. She graduated from Harris Hospital School of Vocational Nursing in 1980 and worked at Kennedale Nursing Home, Forest Hill Nursing Home, as well as, area hospitals. She then earned Associate Degrees in Applied Science and Nursing through TCC and obtained her registered nurse certification. She is currently working as the weekend supervisor at the Town Hall Estates in Whitney and owns a daycare in Arlington where her daughter is director.
 
She and her husband, Don, have eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Freshman Lady ? Paxtynn Booher is the daughter of Andy and Jennifer Booher. She is a member of the JV volleyball team and her most inspirational teachers are KHS Science teacher Gia Bowens and KHS Speech teacher and Coach Jennifer Patterson.
 
Freshman Lord ? Ellis Bowman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ejuan and Toni Bowman. He is the Freshman Class President and member of the Green Club, Key Club, A-V Club and Wildcat Band. The teacher that most inspires him is KHS Science teacher Gia Bowens and ?pretty much all teachers cause they get up every day and have to deal with us.?
 
Sophomore Duchess ? Haley Sloat is the daughter of Tiffany and Jeremy Sloat. She is a varsity Cheerleader and Student Council Secretary. The teacher that most inspires her is her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Lavadoor.
 
Sophomore Duke ? Devan Mason is the son of Edmond and Shayla Mason. Devan is member of the KHS football team and a member of FCA. His most inspirational teacher is KJHS History teacher is Michael Gross.
 
Junior Princess ? Jandy Alanis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alanis. She is a National Honor Society member and on the Wildcat Yearbook staff. The teacher that most inspired her is the late KJHS English teacher Ross Shreves.
 
Junior PrinceDavid Barber is the son of Barbara and Thomas DeGuire. David plays on the KHS basketball team. The teachers he is most inspires by are KHS CTE teacher Julia Naughton and KHS History teacher and Coach Matt Munson.
 
Senior King Nominee ? Son Nguyen is the son of Kim Pham and My Nguyen. Son is the president of the Spanish Club, Vice-President of the National Spanish Honor Society, Vice-President of the Green Club and Treasurer of the National Honor Society and he is also involved in the Key Club, Student Council, Kennedale Youth Advisory Council and was a UIL Academic Math and Science regional qualifier. He also plays for the KHS tennis team. He plans to college and major in Biology and become either a dentist or a pharmacist. His most inspiration teachers are KHS Science teacher Gia Bowens and KHS Spanish teacher Monica Stephens.
 
Senior King Nominee ? Johnny Zielinski is the son of Jeff and Rebecca Zielinski. Johnny is a third year letterman Wildcat football player, a two year All-District player and a two year letterman for KHS Track and Powerlifting. His most inspirational teacher is KHS Computer Science teacher Shaheen Matuni. He wants to obtain a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Economics.
 
Senior Queen Nominee ? Ilena Gamillo is the daughter of Gilberto and Lori Gamillo and Sulema Matos. Her most inspirational teacher is KHS CTE teacher Julie Naughton. She is four member of the KHS Wildcat Band and is drum major. She is an officer for Spanish Club and the National Honor Society. She is an honor student and is PAL member. She plans to major in Accounting or Music.
 
Senior Queen Nominee ? Samantha Randolph is the daughter of Annabelle and Jeff Randolph. Samantha is an officer in the Spanish Club, the National Honor Society and is a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, Key Club, Student Council and the Kennedale Youth Advisory Council. She is in her 7th year in the KISD band program. Her most inspirational teachers are KHS Band Director Erol Oktay, KHS Science teacher Gia Bowens, Spanish Teacher Monica Stephens, CTE and Peer Mediation teacher Julie Naughton and KHS History and Coach Paul Trantham. She hopes to obtain a doctorate in Occupational Therapy and open her own practice.
 
And the 2015 Homecoming King and Queen ?
 
Queen ? Madeline Orona is the daughter of Leonard Orona. Madeline has been a KHS Cheerleader for four years and is currently Co-Captain of the Cheer squad. She is a student in the Ready, Set, Teacher program and is Vice-President of Educators Rising. Her most inspirational teacher is KHS CTE Education teacher and Coach Barbara Johnson. She wants to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio and major in Education to become a teacher.
 
King ? Kaiser McGlothen is the son of Tevida and Kenyotta McGlothen. Kaiser is a member of the Wildcat football, track and powerlifting teams. He has been a Class officer all four years in high school and is a member of the National Honor Society. His most inspirational teacher is Mrs. Davenport. He plans to major in Civil Engineering with a minor in Accounting.
