It is an appropriate time of the year to hold the annual James F. Delaney Dash/Shuffle, benefiting the Delaney Scholarship Fund.
Spring is full of bright colors and anyone who knew “Mr. D” remembers his daisy yellow or bright green jackets. {{more}}Mr. Delaney (40+ years at Kennedale) was the first principal for Delaney Elementary and the namesake for the school. The Delaney Scholarship was established in 2006 in his honor and is annually awarded to a graduating KHS senior.
The ?Shuffle? this year will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014, once again in Kennedale?s Sonora Park. It is a 5k run but it is also for those who like to amble or to shuffle for exercise and a good cause.
Registration forms available at the administration building, Delaney Elementary School, James A. Arthur Intermediate School, Kennedale Junior High or Kennedale High School.You can still register. The official deadline was April 16th but you can still enter, you just may not be able to receive your t-shirt on race day if you register after the 21st.
Check in time is 7:30 a.m. Race starts at 8:00 a.m. at Sonora Park in Kennedale. Refreshments and light snacks provided.
Entry Fees are $25 for adults and $15 for kids 10 & under with a race t-shirt guaranteed for all who meet the deadline.
