10/29 – Prohibited Weapon (Knuckles) – E I-20: At 11:30 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle due to a registration check indicating a wanted person possibly inside the vehicle. During the interview of the adult male driver and adult female passenger it was discovered that the female was in possession of a prohibited weapon (metal ?knuckles? worn over the fingers). The female was arrested for the contraband and was transported to jail for booking.
10/29 – Assault (Bodily Injury) – Wildcat Way: At 2:00 p.m. a school resource officer received a complaint of an assault on campus. The assault occurred during school hours. Statements had already been taken by school staff who initially received the report. A security video of the assault indicated that the victim was in fact assaulted by the suspect. A case is being referred to the juvenile court on the suspect.
10/29 ? Theft $100 to $750 – Peachtree Court: At 5:18 p.m. a report was received of a stolen recycling bin. The item was valued at $150.00.
10/29 – Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Info – Steeplechase Trail: At 5:57 p.m. a victim reported that he had been scammed by an unknown suspect on a phone call. The suspect stated that he was with a government agency and convinced the victim to give out his social security number. The victim was given several other instructions about withdrawing money and became suspicious. The victim then reported the offense to police.
10/30 – Criminal Mischief (Under $100) – Tealcove Drive: At 10:30 a.m. a victim reported that her locked apartment door had been forced open. The victim was not at home at the time of the offense. Nothing was missing from the home.
10/30 – Theft of Material ALUM/BRNZ/COPPER/BRASS – Hillside Drive: At 6:32 p.m. a victim reported that during the overnight hours person(s) unknown had entered his vehicle bed and removed copper wiring from a welding unit. The repair cost was placed at $700.00.
10/31 – Driving While Intoxicated w/ Child under 15 – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:24 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult female driver manifested the physical characteristics of intoxication. She was unable to successfully perform a field sobriety assessment. Officers located a sleeping female juvenile in the rear seat who was not secured in a seat belt or by car seat. The driver was arrested for DWI with a minor and was transported to jail for a blood draw and booking. The juvenile was turned over to a family member who responded to the scene. Child Protective Services was also notified of the arrest.
10/31 – Recovered Stolen Vehicle (other agency) – Grapevine Trail: At 11:30 a.m. an officer checked a vehicle that was parked in a driveway of a business. The Ford F-150 truck displayed two different license plates and was determined to be stolen out of Fort Worth. The vehicle was impounded by the Auto Theft Task Force to be held for processing.
11/01 – Possession Control Substance – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:00 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle for an expired registration. The lone occupant, an adult male driver, was unable to answer questions about the ownership of the vehicle and why he was driving it. During the interview the driver stated that he had drank two shots of alcohol and smoked marijuana earlier. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle for a sobriety assessment. When the driver opened the door and stepped out, a bag of methamphetamine fell from his lap. The driver was arrested for the narcotics and was transported to jail for booking. The narcotic was placed in evidence.
11/02 – Abandoned/ Found Property – 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 7:00 p.m. a found debit card was located at the police department. The card was placed in property for safe keeping until the owner can be notified.
11/02 ? Theft $100 to $750 – Wildcat Way: On this date a school staff member reported to police that a student?s laptop computer was stolen at the high school campus. The theft occurred on 10/26/2018.
11/02 – Incident – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:54 p.m. officers responded with the fire department to an unconscious person. A male was located in the restroom of a business and appeared to be overdosing on heroin. A syringe was found next to the victim with some narcotic still inside. The victim was given Narcan and transported to JPS Hospital. The syringe was placed in evidence.
