Life is full of ups and downs. We all have our varying challenges to deal with and overcome. It is unfortunate that while some are struggling to fight their way through, some have succumbed to the strong and violent wind of the storms of life.

Life they say, “Is full of challenges”. It is indeed a warfare. When you carefully look around, you will see the hustling of humanity burdened by the quest to overcome a major challenge. The cycle of events moves fast that before you come out of one, another one starts. The question many ask is, “When will this stop?”; and the answer is not far fetched – its part of life. The events of life can be overwhelming. We therefore must learn to juggle and balance the responsibilities as they present themselves though burdensome in nature.

In my reflection, I thought about the weighty responsibility that single parents play the in the home. I believe it is challenging to have to be both father and mother. Ironically, married couples and singles (with no child) have challenges too. Their challenges may not be exactly the same as that of the single parent but the effects may be similar depending on individual’s reactions to them.

The impact of these challenges can become a burden too heavy to bear. The effects vary from person to person; family to family; and/or group to group. Burdens are cares, sorrows, tribulations, anxieties, troubles, and needs of others. Another form of burden is the weight of the guilt of sins we commit. Selah!

I have not come to know a person living without a burden. We all have our individual and collective burdens to bear. Apostle Paul’s letter to the church at Galatia encouraged believers to bear each other’s burdens with careful examination of the motives behind the desire to help; and at the same time challenging each believer to bear his/her own individual burdens (Galatians 6:2-5). This is because many times have individuals abused the opportunity to offer help when in the position to do so but rather took advantage of the situation to satisfy their lustful desires and sinful habits.

God knows the wickedness of mankind, and the burdens of the guilt of sin, cares, worries of life, disappointments, sorrows etc. Thus, Jesus came to help, and extends his offer to all with heavy burdens to come to Him. He said in Matthew 11:28-29, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

Now you know that help is available. God has blessed us with good friends, good neighbors, church family, family members, and several support groups of people who have been assigned to assist with these heavy burdens. You do not have to bear those burdens for another day. You and I have both human and divine helps to help us through this life. Make the best of it.

I know some have been disappointed by the responses from those they thought would help them, and that hurts. I know it has become so difficult to trust anyone these days but I hope you can at least trust Jesus. Yes, trust Jesus because people by nature do have the tendencies to disappoint. However, Jesus in both human and divine natures did not, cannot, and will not disappoint.

Today, I encourage you to accept Christ’s offer to help you. Begin to turn your burdens over to Him. Why would you live another day ignoring the help that’s available to you? Maximize the opportunity and privilege to be served. Jesus is waiting. He’s the “Burden Lifter”, and is stronger than the world’s strongest superman/woman. You can start to talk with Him. Though you may not see Him but He hears you, and is near you. He’ll send His ministering Angels to help you.

Jesus as Helper is no fairytales but true life experiences many across the world testify about. Jesus answers and sends help when I call to Him for assistance. I have experienced this many times, and have come to know Him to be faithful. My testimonies are countless, though I am still counting. He will do same for you but you must trust that He can do it. Trusting God for the Help made available for you is the first bold step to take. Know that He loves you so much to care to send help to you. Rest in His love, and hope in His promises that never fails.

God bless you!

With loving regards, I invite you to fellowship with us at Revival Worship Center on 116 East Broadway, Kennedale, TX 76060
