Life Waxahachie is a public charter school with a struggling Mustang football program. This season it is 0-6, coming off a 2-7 record in 2023.
Background …
The school was originally located in Red Oak where a K-6 campus remains. The high school moved to Waxahachie in 2010. It had its best season in 2014 with a 9-2 mark followed by a 6-4 season. The team last made the football playoffs in the years 2016-19. It reported a UIL enrollment of 1103 students.
Sam Riepe is in his second season as head coach. He moved from Maypearl where he had been head coach for 4 seasons.
The school has had better success with basketball, making the playoffs every year since 2017 and finishing in the top eight twice during that period.
This will be the first-ever meeting of the two teams.

Outlook …
Kennedale players have some understanding of what the Mustang players are feeling. Two games ago the Cats were 0-4. The Wildcats have now won two straight and the future looks much brighter. Much thanks to the wall the Cats’ defense has erected this season.
Kennedale is on a winning streak that should continue until a climactic season-ending showdown for the district title with the so-far unbeaten Alvarado Indians.
But first, it is this Friday night.
