Genesis 1:1-5 (NKJV)1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light” and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that [it was] good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
A. What is a Beginning? Hebrew word, “Re’shiyth” – Beginning, first, best. The start of a thing, event, plan or action.
B. Why do have Beginnings? To enable a fresh start; to make right what was wrong; to turn a new leaf (change); to end a cause (plan/goal/objective) with aim for a new start. To do these, we do an assessment of prior years of operations and eliminate what did not work and focus more on what worked. We must be able to incorporate new ideas of how to enhance what worked and what is at hand. I expect that you partake in this exercise.
C. Who is the Beginning? God is the Beginning of all things. He is the Alpha and Omega. Revelation 22:13 (NKJV) – “I am the Alpha and the Omega, [the] Beginning and [the] End, the First and the Last. ”He was before all things and is the Maker of all things.
Please read these scriptures: Isaiah 29:16; Isaiah 64:8; Jeremiah 18:1-9; Romans 9:14-24. They talk about God being the Potter and we as clay. It may interest you to know that God is recreating the world we know. He is Re-Creating the way we do things. He is also improving our wisdom and perception of who He is. While the created things may change, God remains unchanged. His methods and approaches of doing things may change but His character and purpose for all of creation to worship Him remains the same. God is birthing a New World! God said to me while preparing this message, “Don’t be in a hurry to go back to how things were before the pandemic. That was the mistake of your fathers and mothers when I brought them out of Egypt. They quickly went back to their old lifestyles in Egypt by making for themselves a calf to worship instead of waiting to learn of me and to worship me for who I have revealed myself to them – their Deliverer, Savior, Healer, Provider and Protector! ”Please read the book of Exodus to know more about these events. Chapter 12 accounts for the Passover event wherein the angel of death passed through the land and killed the firstborns of the Egyptians but passed over the houses of the Israelites simply because they obeyed God’s instructions through His servant – Moses. Today, We have a better and greater covenant with God.
D. Where do we begin? Believing and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ is where to begin. All that we desire for in this life and the next are found in Him. Read Colossians 1: 9 – 20 Give your life to Christ. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is the beginning of all things. He is the Friend of the friendless; Lover of souls; Provider and Protector of those who love Him.
What is it in this life that you seek? You will find it in Jesus! (Matthew 6:33).
