Recent news from the Kennedale City Planning and Zoning Commission have a re-plat of the commercial development directly across Sublett Road from the new Whataburger.
The development was originally for 3 commercial lots, but there was actually room for an additional lot. Four businesses will be on the land that lies within the city and school district limits and that has become a magnet for new commercial development with anchors Kroger on one side and Albertsons on the other.
As it now stands, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, and an unnamed car wash have dubs on three of the lots. The fourth is open.
Popeyes will be opening their second store in Kennedale. Their first is located at 1125 West Kennedale Parkway (next to Burger King).
O’Reilly Auto Parts store will be the first in this area. Currently, the nearest stores are in Mansfield on Matlock, Arlington on Cooper and Green Oaks, and Forest Hill.
The replat now goes to the Kennedale City Council for final approval.
