At the 2nd Sunday Sonora Flyers Mini, Tracy Van Egmond, a top ranking Female Disc Golfer from the early 90’s on up through her career showed up to face off against a small, all male turn-out.
Hole after hole, Tracy showed little effort throughout the 18 hole round. Every putt, showed her focus and wit about the game was true to her nature.
I was so enamored that Tracy just showed up and ran the course on a bunch of us “Dudes” that I had to do a little research.
Her PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Association) rankings are a sight to see, boasting some amazing Tournament Wins throughout her career and even taking home her first Pro Win at The Veterans Park Open in 1995 in Arlington, TX.

This weekend Tracy walked away with the #1 club tag shooting a 58 on our par 54 course at Sonora Park! According to disc golf etiquette Tracy will be back in September to defend her tag! This also makes Tracy the first female to hold a #1 tag at Sonora Park in any Open Clubs.

Also this weekend, Nice Guy Disc Golf Club Leader James Beloate traveled to Eureka, Illinois to play the Intermediate Division in the 10th Annual Discraft Ledgestone Insurance Open’s Pro/Am event and tied for 82nd with a remarkable +9 for the weekend out of 3 rounds which was really a 14 way tie for 17th place. A solid finish for Beloate against some great golfers in his division.

Sunday afternoon would pit the Pros against each other for the Discraft Ledgestone Insurance Open in which would see 2X World Champion Ricky Wysocki but a savage beating on Reigning World Champion, Paul McBeth by 8 strokes!

All in all this was a great weekend for Disc Golf near and far and we hope to see everybody out on the course September 14th at Sonora Park as Tracy Van Egmond returns to defend her #1 tag!
