The Kennedale Lady Kats with just one loss so far this season they are every bit the team they were last year and again some.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram has moved the Kats up two positions from #10 to #8 in their last ranking of local area teams. This ranking includes all classes from 6A downward. There were no other 4A teams in the top ten.
In the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) poll on September 22, Kennedale is ranked #8 in Class 4A.
Bigger is not always better …
Kennedale just finished a great week by going 5-0 against bigger schools. Last week they took on and defeated 6A Arlington Martin 3-2 on Tuesday, 5A Richland High School 3-0 on Wednesday, 6A Euless Trinity 3-1 on Friday, and on Saturday downed 5A White Settlement Brewer High School 3-0 followed by 6A HEB Bell High School 3-1.
Kennedale has two games this week. They will take on 5A Birdville High School there today (Tuesday) at 5:00 PM and then will play 5A Everman Friday at 5:30 PM again at home.
Kennedale was 9-2 at this point last year on their way to a 37-8 overall record and a final four appearance. Two years ago, the Kats were 6-5 en route to a 25-17 record another undefeated district title.
Only game lost so far this season was an away game against #4 Decatur by a match score of 3-2. Decatur is currently 15-0.
