The Kennedale Wildcats (2-0, 1-0) are hosting the Fort Worth Eastern Hills Highlanders this Friday night, September 25, 2020. Game time is 7:30 PM. Tickets must be purchased in advance (see details below).
Kennedale is 1-0 in district play after blasting FTW Carter-Riverside last Thursday 69-0. Eastern Hills is 1-1 overall and 0-1 in district play. The Highlanders shutout FTW Diamond Hill-Jarvis two weeks ago 36-0 but were thumped by FTW Dunbar last week 61-14.

Eastern Hills High School (EHHS) with a reported enrollment of 916 students dropped down a classification for this year from 5A to 4A. In 2019 while playing in District 4-5A DII, the Highlanders were 5-5 overall and 3-3 in district play. In 2018 they were 3-8 overall and again 3-3 in district play.
The Highlanders at the start of the season reported a large group of returning starters with 9 on offense and 8 on defense while graduating only six seniors. The starting quarterback this year is a freshman.
Texas Football has the Highlanders finishing in 5th place in district behind Kennedale, Castleberry, Benbrook, and Dunbar (in the order).

The game against Diamond Hill-Jarvis was played as a non-district game even though both teams are in District 6-4A. EHHS QB Davionte Collins (FR) rushed for 3 first-half touchdowns in that 36-0 win. For the game, the Highlanders gained 204 yards rushing and 6 yards passing. In the 3rd and 4th quarters, the time was shortened.
Dunbar runaway …
Last week was a different story for EHHS as Dunbar (2-0, 1-0) exploded on the Highlanders who managed only a single score in the first half as Dunbar coasted to the halftime break with a 48-6 lead. In the 2nd half of play, EHHS score one more touchdown with a 40-yard pass from Collins to receiver Brian Faggans (SR). QB Collins (FR) scored the first half TD off a one-yard run. The game ended with Dunbar on top 61-14.
