Lady Kats take on Irving Ranchview tonight in a match-up of the undefeated in District 10/4A

Tonight’s match will be played in the Wildcat’s Cage at Kennedale High School. Varsity is set to play at 5:30 pm.

In the past two weeks, the Kennedale Lady Kats volleyball, ranked by the Dallas Morning News as #1 in DFW for 4A teams, has blanked three district opponents. Each win was in 3 straight sets and moved their record to 18-3, 3-0.

Friday evening the Lady Kats will face their most serious challenger for district dominance in the Ranchview Wolves. Ranchview has also won their first three district games by sweeps giving the Lady Wolves an overall record of 6-6, 3-0.

Like Kennedale, Ranchveiw has been sharpening their teeth on 5A and 6A teams. Losses have come against Frisco 5A Independence 3-0, Richardson 6A Pearce 3-1, Carrollton 5A Creekview 3-0, Mesquite 5A Poteet 3-1, 6A Richardson High 3-0, and Little Elm 6A Braswell 3-0. While wins have come against 6A Mesquite High 3-2, and 6A Garland High 3-2 in non-district contests.

In district play, the Wolves defeated Irving North Hills 3-0, Arlington Summit International 3-0, and Oak Cliff Faith Family 3-0. Kennedale also played and swept the same three district teams.

The Lady Kats are currently ranked #17 by the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA). Note: Because of the overall weakness of the district, the Lady Kats will find it difficult to move up in the rankings until they reach the playoffs.
