Amber Sather?(Freshman) helped Southeastern Louisiana‘s softball team to a 3-1 second-place finish at the season-opening Jimmy John?s Lion Classic I this week ? She finished the week with three doubles and four RBI ? In Friday?s 2-0 win over Tennessee-Martin, she broke a scoreless tie with a two-run double ? She also doubled in the game?s first run in Saturday?s 2-0 victory over St. Louis.

Sather was a two-time District 8-3A MVP {{more}}at Kennedale High School (Class of 2012)? Posted 19 home runs and 83 runs batted in over her final two high school seasons ? Set school record with 13 home runs as a junior ? Won the state power lifting title as a senior, setting an all-time state record for her weight class ? Also played basketball and threw the shot put and discus for the KHS track team ? Most recent club experience came with the Ft. Worth Batbusters team.

She is the daughter of Jerry and Lana Sather (Class of ’83)?. Has two brothers, Jeremy?(Class of 2010) and Allan?(current student)? Father (football, Howard Payne) and brother Jeremy (baseball, Eastern New Mexico) were also college athletes.
