Cold weather has returned and it is time to light the city Christmas tree.
Kick off the season Tuesday night with Christmas songs and music from children, choirs and more. And it is free. {{more}}

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the City of Kennedale and the Kennedale Professional Firefighters Association are sponsoring the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and the Angel Tree kickoff.

The ceremony will feature choir ensembles from schools in the KISD and Kennedale Fellowship Academy along with the state ranked KHS Wildcat Band and the Texas Women?s Choir.
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and with your family and neighbors, enjoy the music with refreshment and snacks provided.
The Kennedale firefighters are asking residents to bring new unwrapped toys to the ceremony for the 2014 Angel Tree Program.
The program helps the kids residing in the City of Kennedale and enrolled in KISD.
Cash and check donations will also be accepted made out to Angel Tree. Angel adoptions are also available at the Kennedale Fire Station.
All adoptions need to be returned no later than December 6th at the Kennedale Fire Station.
