KHS sports action Friday included softball, baseball, soccer and track. It was a good day for the Wildcats overall with wins, a near upset and some top track finishers. {{more: Continue …}}
 
SOFTBALL ? The Lady Kat blasted past Benbrook 15-0 in 3 innings Friday night. Mary Grace Howard, Jamie Franks and Gabryele Slider hit triples. Jamie Franks was the winning pitcher. Kats are 1-1 in district play.
 
BASEBALL ? The Wildcats in tournament play on Friday, beat the Lake Worth Bullfrogs 6-3 on 8 hits, scoring 1 in the first, 2 in the third and 3 in the fifth while limiting Lake Worth to 3 runs on three hits.
 
SOCCER ? The LadyKats shutout Castleberry 6-0 with Eryka McIntyre (So) getting 3 goals, Alondra Olmos (Sr) with1 goal and 2 asst, Taylor Fox (Sr) 1 goal and Cara Hunt 1 goal and 2 asst. Raeley Crosley (Jr) record 2 saves and Sara Calzada (Sr) 1 save as Castleberry had just 3 shots on goal compared to 14 for the LadyKats. The Kats will wrap up another district title Tuesday at Diamond Hill with game time at 6 p.m.
 
SOCCER ? The Wildcats almost pulled off a big upset of district leading Castleberry after finishing in regulation tied at 2-2 but lost 5-4 in the shoot-out that followed. Next is the final game of the regular season at Diamond Hill Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
 
TRACK ? the Wildcats and Lady Kats competed at the Crowley Relays against all 5A or better schools. A number of top finishes included for the Lady Kats – Sarayas Flores 2nd 800m and 3rd 1600m; 3rd 4x100m and 3rd 4x200m; Lige-wade Mcwhorter 1st Long jump; Jasmine Alli 3rd Discus, 1st Shotput. For the Wildcats: 1st ; Devan Mason 2nd Long Jump.
