KHS swimmer takes 1st at District returns to Region for 4th year

Kennedale High School swimmer, Senior Blake Bunnell, took first place in two events on Saturday, January 24, winning special honors and qualifying for the region meet in February. {{more}}
 
Bunnell won the 200 free and the 500 free at the District 8-5A Swimming Championships in Mansfield. This qualified him for the Region II-5A Swimming Championships in Mansfield on February 6-7, 2015.
 
He was also named the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association District Male Athlete of the Meet for the second year in a row.

A competitive swimmer, Blake swims for Kennedale

High School even though the school does not field a team other than Blake, nor

have a swim coach on staff. But, he has been very successful alone.

Kennedale competes in UIL Class 4A in all other events other than swimming. Bunnell competes at the 5A level and has qualified for state three years in a row.
 
At the region meet last year Blake won the 500 for the third year and finished 2nd in the 200.
