The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 16 incidents for the two week period March 29, 2020 through April 11, 2020.? {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, have been deemed unfounded. Therefore, this data should not be viewed as or used to calculate official statistics.

Police Reports: 03/29/20 ? 04/04/20 …

3/29 ? Burglary Oak Ridge Court?- Officers responded to a report of a burglary. A victim reported that a large amount of clothing was missing from her home.

3/31 ? Indecency w/Child??- On this date, a detective received a report of sexual abuse of a child. The report was made through the Alliance for Children.

3/31 ? Violation of Bond or Protective Order?E. Mistletoe Drive – At 2:00 p.m. a victim reported that a family member is under a protective order not to have contact with her. The family member has contacted the victim numerous times over the last few days.

3/31 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) -?At 7:10 p.m. a victim reported that his estranged wife assaulted him while he was in his home. The victim did exhibit injuries consistent with his account of the event. The suspect left the scene before the victim could report the assault.

3/31 ? Evading Arrest or Detention w/Vehicle?North Road?- At 7:33 p.m. officers responded to a report of a male threatening a female inside of a business. As officers arrived the suspect fled but was apprehended after a short pursuit. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to jail for booking.

4/01 ? Incident (Other)?Elmbrook Drive – At 11:52 a.m. an officer was contacted about a child custody issue. The complainant was advised that it is a civil issue.

4/01 ? Application for Mental Detention and Observation?– At 4:51 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female was on scene and presenting a threat to herself and others. She was taken into custody for an emergency mental detention and evaluation. She was transported to JPS Hospital.

4/04 ? Abandoned Vehicle?N. Little School Road – At 1:51 p.m. an officer observed a wrecked vehicle parked in a turn lane and abandoned. The owner could not be contacted. The vehicle was impounded to clear the roadway.

4/04 ? Burglary of Vehicle?Briarwood Road -?At 7:58 p.m. a victim reported that an unknown male was seen by a neighbor removing a drill and battery from the victim?s vehicle. The suspect fled on a bicycle.

4/06 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 4:15 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress. A male suspect was attempting to remove vehicle parts from a salvage yard without paying. The items were recovered and the suspect arrested.

4/08 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000?N. Dick Price Road – At 3:50 a.m. officers responded to a stolen vehicle. A 2001 Dodge Ram was taken from the driveway of a residence without the owner?s consent. The owner listed two female suspects who may have taken the vehicle.

4/08 ? Application for Mental Detention and Observation?-?At 9:30 p.m. officers responded to an emotionally disturbed person. A male was reported to be acting aggressively and had physically assaulted his father. The male has diagnosed but untreated mental illness issues. He was taken into custody for an emergency mental detention and evaluation and was transported to JPS Hospital.

4/09 ? Missing Person (Juvenile)?North Road -?At 1:25 p.m. a mother reported her 11-year-old daughter as a runaway. The daughter was contacted by phone but refused to disclose her location. She also refused to return home.

4/10 ? Theft $30,000 to $150,000?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 10:11 a.m. a business representative reported a U-Haul truck as stolen. The vehicle had been rented on March 3rd with a return date of March 7th. The vehicle was not returned.

4/11 ? Abandoned/Found Property?Paula Lane -?At 5:07 p.m. an officer received a cell phone that had been found in the front yard of a home.

4/11 ? Assault Public Servant?Paula Lane -?At 1:08 a.m. officers responded to a report of a person acting erratically. A male was located in the yard of a home he was occupying with another family member. The male was acting and speaking in a manner that led the officers to believe that he was a danger to himself and others. As officers attempted to handcuff the male for transport to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation, he began to fight and resisted being handcuffed. After several minutes of the suspect fighting and trying to run away, he was taken into custody. The male was secured to a gurney for transport to JPS Hospital by ambulance due to his aggressive behavior and continued resistance.
