Kennedale KYA Minors finish 2nd in overall play

On a cold Saturday evening, the KYA faithful huddle together to cheer on the Kennedale Minors (3rd and 4th grades) in the Brazos Valley Football Super Bowl being played at Joshua High School.

Kennedale had finished the season in second place in their conference losing only once to eventual conference champs, Crowley. {{more}}But when the playoffs came around, Kennedale marched through earning a trip to the Super Bowl by winning against Cleburne 32-0, Burleson III 24-0 and avenging their earlier loss to Crowley by winning 8-6.

In the Super Bowl it was not to be. Kennedale played Burleson I who had rolled through the regular season undefeated and rarely scored on. The playoffs were much the same with Burleson winning by scores of 42-0, 52-0 and 22-6. Kennedale played their hearts out but couldn?t stop the Burleson juggernauts, who won by a score of 28-0.

All in all, it was a great year for the Kennedale Minors with an overall record of 8-2.

The Kennedale Bantam team finished in 3rd place in the American conference and won their first round playoff game against Midlothian III. They had an overall record of 5-3.

The Kennedale Majors (5th and 6th grades) finished 2nd the National South Division and took wins all the way to the conference championship before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champs, Crowley. The Majors finished with an overall record of 4-2.
