Marching Wildcats only 4A band in Midlothian contest final round

The Kennedale Wildcat Band performed well at the Midlothian Marching Band Festival this past weekend.
 
The KHS Band placed 3rd in class and both the Drumline and the Guard placed 2nd in class. {{more}}
 
As the only 4A band in the Finals against some of the best 5A and 6A bands in the area, the Wildcats placed 6th overall.

This is contest month for the band leading up to the UIL state competition. The Wildcat Drumline started off the contest run with the Plano

Drumline contest on September 27.

 
Next Saturday, October 11, the Marching Wildcats travel to Princeton to defend their Grand

Championship title won last year.

 

Then on October 18th, it is the 1st

round of UIL competition in Glen Rose followed by area competition at Leander

ISD?s Grupton Stadium October 25th.

The Kennedale Marching Wildcat Band has made it to state level competitions four consecutive years, finishing in the top 12 the past two times. State competitions for 4A bands are held every two years. Kennedale had been to state in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012 and is determined to add 2104 to the list.
