No City Election in Kennedale

It is not official but the Kennedale City Council will be entertaining a motion at the next council meeting to cancel city elections schedule for May 10, 2014.
 
The reason – no contested offices. There were three places open on the City Council: Mayor, Place 2 and Place 4. The incumbents filed but no one else did. {{more}}The state allows local governmental entity to call off elections and save the cost in this type of situation.
 
This will mean that Mayor John Clark, City Council member Liz Carrington in Place 2 and City Council member Kelly Turner in Place 4 will be declared the winners and will serve for another two years.
