? ? Kennedale (8-2, 5-0) established several things in its win over Mineral Wells Friday night. First, an undefeated district season at 5-0 – something the Cats have not seen in a long time. Second, another playoff season – something the Cats see every year under Head Coach and Athletic Director Richard Barrett. And third, the emergence of another potent running back to compliment the already dominating rushing attack of the Wildcats.

Playing in Mineral Wells’ backyard, Kennedale once again totally dominated a district opponent beating the Rams 63-28. {{more}}Kennedale outgained the Rams by 376 yards with the Cats defense allowing only 1.7 yards per Ram carry. The score was 28-7 at halftime with Kennedale scoring another 21 in the third and 14 in the 4th. With this win the Wildcats secured first place in District 6(3A) and will enter the playoffs in Division I.
? ? Starting in place of Juwan Washington, running back L.J. Powell quickly established his ?street cred? by rushing for 352 yards on 25 carries with proven workhorse Donny Darville adding another 168 yards. Washington has been kept out of the last two games to rest an old injury. The Wildcats under Coach Barrett are always a running team and always seem to have that one irreplaceable running back. This year he may have his choice going into the playoffs. Juwan Washington the starter all season ended the regular season with 1341 yards in 8 games with a 9.2 average per carry. Donny Darville has 719 yards at 7.6 yards per carry and quarterback Zac Michener, always a running threat, has 537 yards with 8.7 yards per carry.
