James Lee Cox

James was 59, he passed away Wednesday, August 18th, 2021, in Fort Worth, TX.  James was born in Woodward, Oklahoma on September 27, 1961.  James was a longtime partner in Texas Farrier Supply, Kennedale, TX. 

His favorite activities were long-range shooting, hunting, Jeeping, rock crawling, and travel.  He enjoyed spending time with “his girl”, grandchildren, family, friends, and his beloved Dobermans.  James never met a stranger.  He had a smile for everyone, was quick to laugh, and loved to play jokes on his friends and family.  He loved having his picture taken, especially when he was being goofy.  James had a contagious personality. 

His loss leaves a huge hole in our hearts.  James was preceded in death by partner Donna Morris, grandparents Ivan and Betty Jo Jellison, father Nash Cox, and mother Yvonne Franchett.  He is survived by his “Pops” Len Franchett, stepbrother Scott Franchett,  fiancé (“his girl”) Kelly Jackson; Son Ivan Cox and granddaughters Camryn and Carsyn; daughter Aren Smith (David) and grandchildren Brody and Piper; Judy Gassiot (Andrew) and grandchildren Drew and Julia; and numerous friends and loved ones.

Friends and family are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life at Red’s Roadhouse, 1170 E. Kennedale Pkwy, Kennedale, TX 76060 on Sunday, September 12, 2-6pm.
