THREE WILDCAT CHEERLEADERS SELECTED TO NCA ALL-AMERICAN TEAM

Jordan Barnett and Taitlynn Aguilar were two of three KHS cheerleaders selected for the National Cheerleaders Association All-American team over the summer.

The NCA All-American Program is a popular program with participants from all across the country. An individual award is given to those who display superior technical skills, leadership, and strong personal values.

As part of this process, All-Americans are given the opportunity to participate in a performance at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.

The senior Wildcats traveled to Orlando during Thanksgiving break to represent KHS along with 550 other All-American cheerleaders and captains across the Nation.

To make the All-American Team, individuals must pass two levels of review which is based on performance ratings in the following areas.

  • JUMPS – The cheerleader has superior skills in his/her jump technique. The individual must display strong form, above level jumps and a wide variety of jumps.
  • MOTIONS – Must demonstrate strong motion technique with every motion while learning and performing.
  • TUMBLING – The standard to be nominated is a back-handspring series. They must have good technique and solid skills.
  • STUNTING – Must have strong skills as either a base or a top person. A nomination is based on technique, skill level and involvement in the stunt group.
  • DANCE – Must demonstrate strong dance skills, displaying superior technique and excellent memory skills.
  • LEADERSHIP – The cheerleader exhibits superior leadership qualities on his/her team.
