The battle begins: Kennedale Lady Kats enter UIL playoffs once again – Updated with playoff info

Kennedale Volleyball won their 8th consecutive district title Tuesday night with a 3-0 win over Ranchview (25-8, 25-12, 25-14).

It was the final match of district play and of the regular season.  The Lady Kat currently has a 32-6-1 overall record and a 10-0 district mark.

This will be the 15th straight year for the Kats to be in the playoffs. The playoffs are set to begin the first week in November and as things stand, Kennedale, as a 1st seed, will play the 4th seed from District 9-4A.

According to MaxPreps, their first opponent should be Sanger who is listed at 24-14-1 overall and 7-5 in district play. District 9 includes the #1 team in Class 4A, Celina for MaxPreps. Kennedale has played only one team from District 9 this year, Melissa.  Kennedale won that match 2-0.  Melissa finished 3rd in District 9.

Kennedale is currently ranked #5 in Class 4A in MaxPreps out of 190 teams. Kennedale follows #1 Hereford followed by #2 Decatur, #3 Stephenville and #4 Celina.

The Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) has Kennedale ranked #10 statewide in Class 4A.

The Star-Telegram area rankings for Class 4A has kept Kennedale at #1 this season followed by #2 Argyle Liberty Christian, #3 Boyd, #4 Godley, and #5 Midlothian Heritage.

Kennedale ranks as one of the top teams in Class 4A in 4 out of 5 stats categories in MaxPreps. As a team, Kennedale leads the state in Class 4A in hitting percentage (.268%), #4 in assists (1225), #5 in kills (383), and 14th in blocks (140).

Individual state stat leaders (MaxPreps) …

Five Lady Kats are listed in the top 14 across the state for 4A Volleyball. Maddie Pyles (SR) is number 1 in Class 4A in hitting percentage (.368) while Bridget Barton (SR) ranks 13th (.278). Pyles also ranks #7 in kills (438). Gracyn Reed (SR) ranks 11th in assists (653). Taylor Poore (SR) is 14th with aces (74).
