Donald Rex Chamblee, age 79, of Kennedale, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Don was born July 21, 1943, in Beebe, Arkansas to parents Dalton and Ovie Chamblee.
Don had a love for racing, which started as a young boy on Glynna’s family-owned go cart track where they met in 1961. And continued with motorcycles, dune buggies and dirt track racing until the age of 76. He retired as a machinist and always loved tinkering with cars. He was a member of the Army National Guard for many years.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Veta Hathcock and Reta Hudson. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Glynna Chamblee. Two daughters, Donna Johnson and Stacee Yandell and sons-in-law, Gary Yandell and Dean Vilaros. Two granddaughters, Jordyn Vilaros and Brooklyn Scott and grandson-in-law, Phillip Scott. Great grandson Eli, his latest pride and joy. He greatly loved his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, dearest friends, and racing family. The family wishes to honor Tiffany, Shawn, and Scarlet as they have been wonderful and supportive neighbors.
