Life Waxahachie was the big winner at the District 10-4A Meet in Waxahachie last week by claiming both the boy’s and girls’ titles. But Kennedale followed and claimed dual 2nd place finishes.
Despite finishing behind Life, Kennedale “tracksters” captured 10 golds, 8 silvers, and 1 bronze. There were 20 individual personal/season records set by Kennedale. And, seven KHS athletes won multiple medals.
Most decorated (1st, 2nd & 3rd places) include six Wildcats – Poasa Utu 5, Justin Walker 3, Jaylen Webb 2, Dedaunte Scott (2), Abraham Cole Jr 3, and Blake Dunn 3. For the Lady Kats, there were five – Jessi Willingham 2, Eniyah Birdlow 2, Alaya Huckabee 2, Jada White 3, and Dekhota Sipho 3.
Special performances also include Jessi Willingham, a 9th grader winning gold twice and Eniyah Birdlow earned both a gold and a silver as a sophomore.
