KHS Academic Team brings home the medals

Kennedale High School took 21 students to compete in 13 events at the Region 1 Academic Meet on the campus of Texas Tech University this past weekend and returned home with 12 medals. {{more: Read more …}}

Four students will be advancing to the state UIL Academic Meet in Austin.

Science took 2nd Place, barely missing 1st by 30 points. (6th highest score in the State)

Carson Ham ? 5th Place Finish

Leanne Blind ? 6th Place Finish

Olivia Ham ? 11th Place Finish

Jay Acosta ? 13th Place Finish

(All individual scores were in the top 22% of the State)

Computer Applications

Derek Isensee ? 3rd Place (STATE QUALIFIER) (17th highest score in the State)

Social Studies

William Badger ? 11th Place

Computer Science took 2nd Place, barely missing 1st by 16 points.

Carson Ham ? 1st Place (STATE QUALIFIER) (2nd Highest Score in the State)

Olivia Ham ? 2nd Place (STATE QUALIFIER) (12th highest score in the State)

Chris Chen ? 3rd Place (STATE QUALIFIER) (13th highest score in the State)

Long Nguyen ? 11th Place (38th highest score in the State)

Many hours were put into preparation for

the KHS UIL academic team including this last minute cram session in Lubbock
