Mineral Wells (8-1) had a two game lead on the Kats going into Friday?s game. This means that the Kats will have to have some help to at least forge a tie. There are only three games remaining in district play.

Friday night, it was all Kennedale with the Kats loading the home plate with 11 runs in the first two innings. The Kats added one run each in the 3rd and the 5th. For the game, Kennedale slammed 8 doubles plus a home run with everyone connecting on for at least one hit. Mineral Wells got on the scoreboard late with their 3 runs all coming in the 5th.

Alexa Neifert went 3 for 3 including a double and a homerun. Mary Grace Howard went 3/2 on two doubles while collecting 4 RBIs. Megan Calhoun was 3/2 including a double. Also slamming doubles were Jamie Franks, Ashley McElvany, Alyssa Bradberry and Josie Mensing. Finishing out the hits for Kennedale was Gabryele Slider and Jenna Webb.

Jamie Franks earned the win, pitching 5 innings facing 22 batters with 64 pitches, allowing 7 hits, 3 runs, getting one strikeout and walking one.

Kennedale travels to play 5th place Castleberry (3-4) tonight at 6:30 pm. The Kats come back home to play Diamond Hill on Thursday at 6:30 pm.
