The Texas National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and better places to live. National Night Out is designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness. Generate support for local anti-crime efforts.

The Kennedale Police Department is promoting this event and calling for all local neighborhoods to participate.

The event’s goal is to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits, and much, much more.

While the national day is the first Tuesday in August, Texas has selected the first Tuesday in October to celebrate this event.

Short of time, think small …

Does it have to be a big event? No, it can be as simple as setting out lawn chairs in a common area, cul-sac, or someone’s yard and inviting the neighbors. Let the Kennedale Police know and they will gladly send someone by for a visit.

The National Night Out organization would like to know about the event and to add it to thier count and give recognition to the KPD. Register the event, big or small, @ National Night Out.
