Today we are spotlighting a teacher everyone loves and adores – Mrs. Vicky Pearce.

If you’ve been in Kennedale ISD there is no doubt you’ve heard about the wonderful Mrs. Pearce at James F. Delaney Elementary. Mrs. Pearce is celebrating her 20th year in education, her 20th year in Kennedale ISD, and her 20th year at JFD.

She has taught third grade her entire educational career and is a “jack of all trades” when it comes to the classroom. She has taught all subjects, taught self-contained and in pods, and has worked with diverse populations including gifted and talented, special education, and dyslexia.

Mrs. Pearce is also a trailblazer on her campus being one of the first to earn the Google Level 1 certification in the district. Without hesitation, Mrs. Pearce jumped into every technology training she could get her hands on to make sure she was prepared to help her students succeed this year. With over 50 hours of professional development in Google and technology, Mrs. Pearce has gone above and beyond to make her in-person and virtual learning environments as engaging and effective as possible.

We asked Mrs. Pearce what she enjoys most about working with her students:

“My favorite part of working with my students is building relationships with them. They become ‘my children’ to love, teach, and worry about. It is like you always hear in education, ‘To reach a child’s mind, you must first capture their heart.’ I truly miss them when they leave me, but over the summer God puts a new love in my heart for my next group of kids. I love seeing my former students when they are in high school or even grown-up. Hearing their success stories warms my heart. I am so blessed to teach in Kennedale ISD with such wonderful, caring teachers and administrators to support me.”

Mrs. Pearce not only excels at building relationships with her students, but she also builds strong relationships with her fellow teachers.

A member of her team wrote in her nomination,

“Vicky is so helpful with everything from her team planning, being team leader, being a friend and always being there no matter what you need. She is the best.”

We think many would agree! Mrs. Pearce has created a tremendous legacy in Kennedale ISD. She models for others what it means to be a dedicated Wildcat Teacher – always putting her students first and doing whatever it takes to help them grow. When she isn’t busy being a rock star teacher, Mrs. Pearce is soaking up every second with her loving family.

“I am married with 2 sons and 1 daughter. I have 4 grandsons that I adore and another grandson coming in February. They keep me busy watching them play sports and attending their various activities but I love every minute of it.”
