Kennedale City Council approves new contract for senior citizens/disabled transportation

Trinity Metro will administer transportation services to the citizens of the City of Kennedale under the program known as Tarrant County Transportation Services from January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2022.

Trinity Metro will administer demand-responsive transportation services for the seniors and persons with disabilities of Kennedale according to the federal requirements of the Section 5310 grant and according to the relevant State of Texas statutes.

This transportation is provided for a variety of purposes such as medical appointments, shopping, recreation, school, or work.

The City of Kennedale will be allocated one day (Tuesday), each week as their primary designated day for transportation. On that day, all available vehicles will be provided for service to qualified Kennedale residents. [Customer Service call 817-215-8738].

On the remaining days of the week, rides are available subject to priority requests from other cities on a first-come basis.

This is an annual agreement, between the City of Kennedale and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA /”Trinity Metro”), that allows for Tarrant County Transportation Services (TCTS) paratransit services to provide transportation of older adults (65+) and other qualified persons to and from a variety of venues for purposes including shopping, medical, and recreational for a fare of $2.50 per trip (one-way). (According to information, 188 trips were taken by Kennedale residents last year.)
