DiMitri Higginbotham, Assistant Director of Bands at Kennedale High School announced the new Wildcat drumline for 2014.
For the uninitiated the drumline is a section of the percussion instruments that have become a major focal point of a successful high school marching band programs. College bands made them famous and high schools followed with their own versions. {{more}}
There is generally two sections in the drumline, the battery and the front ensemble.
The battery is the section that marches on the field and performs routines in coordination with the rest of the band. It includes snare drums, bass drums, tenor drums, and cymbals.
The front ensemble of the 2013 KHS Drumline
The front ensemble (sometimes referred to as the ?pit?) is the stationary part of the drumline performing usually in the front of the band along the sideline. It includes larger or less mobile instruments such as the marimbas, xylophones, glockenspiels, vibraphones (vibes) and the synthesizer.
