FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC – Full-time: PAY – Firefighter Paramedic starts at $51,910 annually. This includes base pay ($44, 300 annually) holiday (approximately $1,968 annually), FLSA overtime (approximately $5,642 annually). REGUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or GED, a class ?C? Texas Driver?s License, and Firefighter and Paramedic certifications. Satisfactory completion of a written examination, physical agility test, background and reference checks, peer board and chief?s interview, psychological, polygraph, physical fitness assessment and medical exam, and drug and alcohol screening prior to employment.

FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC – Part-time: work as a member of a five person emergency response team operating one fire engine and one MICU ambulance. The assignments include working 12 to 24 hour shifts covering full-time firefighters? vacations, sick-leave, or training. Duty uniforms, personal protective equipment, and SCBA are provided. PAY: The role starts at $14.00 per hour regardless of rank at applicant?s full-time department. REQUIREMENTS: The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a class ?C? Texas Driver?s License, and TCFP Firefighter and Texas Certified or National Registry Paramedics required. Current employment as a full-time Texas Firefighter with experience driving, operating, servicing and maintaining fire engines, brush trucks, and ambulances. Selected candidates must pass a background, reference check, drug and alcohol screening, and a physical fitness assessment prior to employment.

PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER – Part-time:: Job duties include assisting with the mowing, maintenance, trash removal of city parks and medians and other duties as assigned to assist with maintenance of streets and water/wastewater systems, guardrails and drainage repairs. PAY: $10.00 hour; city will furnish personal protective equipment. Approximate work hours are Monday – Wednesday or Wednesday ? Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. REGUIREMENTS: Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Texas Class C driver?s license, and have a record of dependability, ability to understand and follow directions. The job involves outdoor work, including temperature extremes and moderate to heavy lifting. Applicants must have the ability to lift, push, pull, stand for long periods of time; squat, kneel, reach, and operate equipment necessary for job duties listed above. A drug screen and background check will be performed prior to employment.

STREETS AND PARKS CREWLEADER: oversees, coordinates and participates in the work of a small crew engaged in the installation, maintenance and repair of streets, drainage, parks city facilities and city rights-of-way. This role will require some knowledge of irrigation and landscape maintenance of parks and other city property including use of pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides; use of a variety of heavy equipment such as: mowers, small hand tools, driving dump trucks, flat beds and other types of vehicles, shovels, rake and roll asphalt, pothole repair, crack sealing, place concrete, sign repairs and other general repair of city streets. Will also assist with water and wastewater functions as needed or required. Must be able to work on-call rotation; must be available for call back as needed for emergency situations. REGUIREMENTS: a high school diploma or equivalent and two years? experience in construction trades including work with concrete ad asphalt plus a variety of equipment. One to two years’ experience in leading and supervising others, and Class B CDL Texas driver?s license. Must be crossed-trained to assist in the water department and obtain a class C water license. Ability to obtain irrigation, turf and ornamental licenses. PAY: Starts at $17.00 hour.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT ? Fire Administration & Planning: This role is split 50/50 between the fire administration and permit clerical as well as customer service support for the customer service desk. This role is accountable for first line customer service, assisting with permit applications, taking payments for water customers, collection of fees, document preparation, and various secretarial and clerical activities for the effective operations of Fire Administration, including compiling tabulated data, assembly of reports, special events planning, payroll, and records management. REGUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or equivalent with some accounting experience preferred and possession of an appropriate valid Texas driver?s license. Must have grammar and proofreading skills, advanced knowledge of Word and Excel and ability to obtain Notary Public within six months. COMPENSATION: Hourly rate starts at $15.00 – $16.00 hr plus benefits
