Various construction projects are ongoing in the Kennedale area, all in a different stage of completion. The following is a review of the current projects. {{more: Read more …}}
 
Kroger – Work has finally started with site preparation for their new store that will be located at the corner of US287 and Sublett, directly across the street from Alberstons and Jack in the Box. Construction including road work will carry over into 2017. It is to be a Kroger Marketplace store that offers a full-service grocery, pharmacy and health & beauty care departments as well as general merchandise areas, i.e. apparel, home goods and toys.
 
Kennedale McDonalds located at B287 (Kennedale Parkway) and I-20 is about to move beyond the foundation stage with preparation work being done for the parking lot. Should see structure going up in August with an opening late September or into October. The traffic count remains high in that area and McDonald?s is confident that it will be a high volume store. QT has reported that their store sales across the street rates as one highest in Tarrant County.
 
Swiney Estates – Out on north Bowman Springs Road near the I20 and US 287 split and across from the Southwest Nature Preserve, (this area is what old timers call Kennedale Mountain), the old Swiney place has been demolished to make way for the planned Swiney Estates. It will be a 35 single home residential development with an entrance across from Pennsylvania Avenue.
 
Old School Primitive Baptist Church – The new church building is at 1075 Little School Road and is more than halfway complete with most of the exterior building completed. Work will continue inside along with parking, entrance and stormwater site work yet to done. The Church currently meets at the Pantego Lion?s Club building in Pantego.
 
Kennedale Senior Housing – This development is in the midst of site work. The 17 acre construction site is off of New Hope Road and backs up to Sonora Park. The age restricted development calls for a series of four unit apartment buildings with one or two bedrooms. It will include a clubhouse and a gazebo with access to Sonora Park. Residents will have to age 55 or older.
 

Kennedale Administration Building – Repairs are showing progress on the building at 120 W Kennedale Parkway. The work is covered by a insurance settlement for earlier storm damage. Looks should change dramatically with replacement of orginal windows with new sleek look. It is on schedule for opening next month.
