KHS win state/area honors last week

It was a good several weeks for Kennedale High School winning all-state choir and band selections, top honors at an area academic meet, a state outstanding teacher selection, an All-American recognition, a #3 and a #9 All-Area basketball ranking. {{more:Read more …}}

KHS Choir Director Matt Schenck announced that two students were selected to the Texas All-State Choir, Noah Wyckoff and Leanne Blind. It is the second year for both of these students to earn All-State honors.

KHS Band Director Erol Oktay announced that three students were named to the Texas Association of Small School Bands 2017 All-State Band. They were Ji Soo Chong, Andrew Swille and Cierra Bentley.

 
At Mansfield Timberview Academic Meet held last week, Kennedale?s Computer Science team captured 1st place along with Jay Acosta taking a first in Science. Overall meet results:

Danny Wilcox honored as

Educator of the Year

 
KHS teacher Danny Wilcox was selected as the Educator of the Year by the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation and was honored at a special banquet this past weekend. Mr. Wilcox teaches Outdoor Education and Science at Kennedale High School.
 
KHS Lady Kats (24-3) and KHS Wildcats (14-10) basketball teams were ranked #3 and #9 respectively in the dfwVarsity All-Area basketball rankings for the week. Both are currently undefeated in district play.
 
KHS LadyKats soccer has started the defense of their state title winning their first two games of the season. KHS Wildcat soccer starts play Tuesday evening.
 
Finally, Baron Browning added to his award total with a notification that he has been selected an All-American by MaxPreps.
