The Kennedale Police Department reported the following five incidents for the one week period December 9 through December 15, 2018. The reports included unlawful possession, burglary DWI and assault. {{more: continue …}}?
12/09 – Driving While Intoxicated w/ Child under 15 – 700 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:58 a.m. an officer was dispatched to a possible intoxicated driver being followed by a third party motorist. The vehicle was located and stopped after running a red light. The adult male driver appeared to have been drinking heavily and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. A five year old female was in the rear seat of the vehicle but was unharmed. She was turned over to her mother. The driver was transported to jail for a blood draw and booking.
12/12 – Assault by Contact -? At 1:53 a.m. officers responded to a domestic assault. A male and female (boyfriend and girlfriend) had been arguing and the female physically assaulted the male. Both parties had been drinking alcoholic beverages. The female was placed under arrest for the assault and transported to jail for booking.
12/13 – Incident (other) – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:11 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) possibly hacked her company computer and changed bank information for a direct fund deposit account. Both the company and the bank are located out of state. No funds were actually transferred because the victim did not approve the account change. An investigator will follow up on the complaint.
12/13 – Possession Drug Paraphernalia – 200 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:47 p.m. an on-duty Kennedale police officer was driving on Kennedale Parkway when a second vehicle entered the road from a stop sign. The second vehicle struck the right front fender and corner of the patrol unit and then careened into a third vehicle that was parked in an adjacent parking lot. No one was injured in the parked vehicle. The driver of the vehicle causing the accident smelled of marijuana but did not appear to be impaired. The driver was found to be in possession of a trace amount of the narcotic but it was not a usable quantity. The driver was also in possession of alcoholic beverage but was under 21 years of age. The driver was issued citations for failure to yield right-of-way, possession of drug paraphernalia, and minor in possession of alcohol. She was released to her father. The officer was transported to a local hospital as a precaution and then released.
