The 2017-2018 school year has been yet another successful year for the Kennedale Wildcat Band! In December, 50 band members went to compete at the ATSSB All-Region competition at Tolar High School. {{more: continue …}}

These students competed against other students on like instruments from the region to earn a spot in the All-Region Band. The following students placed high enough in their auditions to earn a spot in the All-Region Band and pictured and listed in no certain order were:??
- Ji Soo Chong, Megan Tucker, Jordan Saunders, Alex Saenz, Dakota Chapman, Farah Jaber, McKendry Walsh, Allyson Young, Vi Do, Alexis Bundy, Kailey Short, Jay Acosta, Andrew Swille, Colby Wilson, Tyler Weckherlin, Alondra Castaneda, Alexander Young, Dylan Mowrer, Luis Flores, Carlos Teran, Tommy Crisp, Allen Constantino, Makenna Kramer, and Trinity Tran.??
These same students later participated in all-region clinic and concert held at Kennedale High School that include the top students from around the region.

A select group of the band members placed high enough in their region audition to advance to the area level of competition where they would have a chance to compete for a spot in the Texas All-State Band. Advancing and pictured in no certain order were 😕

- Ji Soo Chong, Megan Tucker, Dakota Chapman, Farah Jaber, McKendry Walsh, Kailey Short, Jay Acosta, Andrew Swille, Colby Wilson, Tyler Weckherlin, Allen Constantino, and Makenna Kramer.
Of those students, Ji Soo Chong (flute) and Dakota Chapman (clarinet) both earned a seat in the Texas All-State Band. Two other Wildcat Band Members, Farah Jaber (clarinet) and Andrew Swille (trumpet), were first alternates to the All-State Band.

This is the highest level of individual competition that high school band students can compete.??
Band members are currently competing in UIL solo and ensemble contests.
