31 KJHS Band Members make All-Region Band

 

Kennedale Junior High band students traveled to Irma Marsh Middle School in Castleberry ISD on November 18th to compete in all-region auditions. {{more}}

 

The auditions were for a position in the All-Region band, which is the best of the best from 6 surrounding districts. Kennedale, Godley, Springtown, Alvarado, Castleberry, and Stephenville make up the region.

 

It was a good day for Kennedale Junior High students. Thirty-one KJHS students or 40% of the available positions were selected. The remaining positions were divided among the other 5 schools. KJHS had double the amount of students make the All-Region band than any other school.

 

KHS will be the host school for the All-Region Band this year. All-Region events will be held at the KISD Performing Arts Center (PAC) on the campus of Kennedale High School.

 

On January 23, 2015 the All-Region Band, representing all five schools, will meet and rehearse with talented band instructors. The students will learn new techniques as well as play a concert that evening at the PAC. The concert is open to the public.

 

In addition to the students who earned a chair (position), Kennedale had many students as first alternate. An alternate takes the place of someone if they get ill or become ineligible.
