What we found was that there have been eight teams to reach the third round in 1996, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2009, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Out of those eight teams, three made it to the 4th round of the state playoffs which has been called the state quarterfinals by some and the region finals by others. Making it to that round puts the team in the top eight teams in the state for the 3A or 4A classification. These teams are the 2001, 2003 and the 2016 Wildcats.
