My name is Josh Altom, and after much thought and consideration, I?m excited to announce that I have decided to run for Kennedale City Council Place 1. {{more: continue …}}

A little about me, I?m a family man, I have two children, a son and a daughter, and I am extremely blessed. My wife and I moved to this the area over a decade ago and I have made my home here. I?ve been employed and worked with multiple municipalities in the DFW area and I am currently serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic. I have devoted my life to civil service and to protecting life and property.

I feel I have gained some management skills by currently serving on the Brookstone Estates Home Owners Association as President of the Board. I am also on City of Kennedale?s Economic Development Corporation and I was previously a member of the Kennedale Board of Appeals and Board of Adjustments.

While living in Kennedale, I have become intrigued with this unique small town feel, and I believe it has great potential growth in its future. I believe we can accomplish this while still keeping that great small town feel. I would like to be the citizen in our town that people can approach and share their thoughts and ideas about growth, our youth, and the overall wellbeing of our community.

Our motto in the fire service mirrors many of the attributes a city representative should strive for which include compassion, dedication, commitment, loyalty and excellence. I spend every day serving citizens and I hope I have the chance to serve you.

To me, this is a job that comes with enormous responsibility, integrity and devotion. As a public servant, I have witnessed cities struggle, then prosper, as they find their footprint in this great state. Let me help be the voice, your voice, which helps Kennedale prosper.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Josh Altom
