The 3rd annual Kennedale ISD ?Jazz and Drums Concert? will be held Thursday evening at the KISD Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. It is a free concert.
According to DiMitri Higginbotham, KISD Percussion Coordinator and KHS Jazz Band Director, the evening will start the night with three rocking KJHS percussion ensembles {{more}}performing high school level pieces. These ensembles had all earned top Division 1 ratings in competition.
Immediately following the drums, the Kennedale Wildcat Jazz Band will perform with some jazz standards like ?My Funny Valentine? as well as some Latin hits like Carlos Santana?s ?Smooth?. This will also be the last concert featuring KHS vocalist Victoria Buendia singing ?Skyfall? made famous by Adele.
?If you have not yet heard Victoria sing with the Wildcat Jazz Band you are in for a wonderful experience,? said Higginbotham adding, ?This will be one for the ages.?
