Bobby Dale Roberts, 81, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, Sept. 2, 2014, with his loving wife of 62 years by his side. {{more}}Graveside service: 10 a.m. Saturday in Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby Dale’s name to Mission Printing or Christ Haven Children’s Home in Keller.Bobby Dale was born Feb. 20, 1933, to William Newton and Nora Roberts in Rendon.He retired from the city of Fort Worth Water Department in 1986 after many years of service.Bobby Dale had many other side jobs as well which included delivering eggs all around town, selling watermelons and starting his own lawnmowing business after retirement.Bobby Dale was a longtime member of Kennedale Church of Christ and was quite involved with the Kennedale Senior Citizens Center where he coined himself “champion of Texas” at the dominoes table.Bobby Dale was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.Survivors: His loving wife of 62 years, Phyllis; daughter, Pam Wood and husband, Jim, of Garland; sons, Chester Dale Roberts and Bobby Eugene Roberts, both of Kennedale; sister, Delpha “Babes” Pearce and husband, Kenneth, of Rendon; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.ViewTribute Wall
