Two weeks ago, the Kennedale Lady Kats finish first in the 4A Region 1 track meet in Lubbock after finishing 1st in the district and 2nd in area.

This time Kennedale is packing a lot of punch in a small group of proven winners. Travelling to Austin are Alexis Brown, Julia Mosely, Mariah Wells, Lucy Benson, Shania Roper and Daeshun Pearson. These small numbers could transmit in a significant medal count.

Brown, Mosely, Wells and Benson are all part of Kennedale?s relay team that took first at the region track meet in the 400 relay and 2nd in the 800 relay. Brown added to the winning by taking first in the 100, the 200 and the Long Jump, giving her 4 gold medals for the day.

They hope to repeat the feat in Austin. They are all familiar to the medal stand in Austin. Brown, Mosely and Benson were part of the 200 relay team that finished 2nd in the state last year.

The UIL State Track Championship meet is being held today through Saturday at the Mike A Myers Stadium in Austin. See live results @ State
