This is a joint effort by school districts of Arlington, Grand Prairie, Kennedale, Mansfield, and Midlothian. It is open to everyone and will feature student performers and speakers that include Robert Scott, former Texas Commissioner of Education; Dr. David Anthony, CEO of Raise Your Hand Texas; Jonathan Grant-Brown, alumni of AVID. {{more}}?? ? ?From their websites Raise Your Hand Texas says that it is ?a non-profit advocacy organization working to strengthen public education in Texas ” and AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, ?is a college readiness system for elementary through higher education that is designed to increase schoolwide learning and performance.??? ? ?The program is scheduled for Thursday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the new Mansfield ISD Center for Performing Arts at 1110 W Debbie Lane, Mansfield, TX 76063.
